Why share a wishlist before Black Friday
Every year the same thing happens. Someone asks what you want for the holidays, you say "oh, anything", and then they buy something at full price in mid-December, or panic-buy a deal that isn't really you. Meanwhile the thing you actually wanted was 30% off on Black Friday.
A shared Black Friday wishlist fixes the timing. If your family has your list the week before Thanksgiving, they can buy from it when prices are lowest. Everyone saves money, and you get gifts you'll actually use.
It also stops duplicates. When several people are shopping the same sales on the same weekend, it's easy for two of them to grab the same deal. On GishFy, each item can be marked as gifted only once. The next person who tries to buy it is told it's already taken and can pick something else.
And it helps you, too. Big sales are designed to make you buy things you didn't plan to. A list made in October, with the normal price written next to each item, lets you check in seconds whether a "doorbuster" is a real deal or just a big red sticker.
Get your Black Friday list ready in 3 steps
- 1
Create a free list
Call it something like "Holiday 2026" and start adding things now, while you still have time to think.
- 2
Add items with today's price
Paste a link from Amazon, Target, Walmart, Best Buy or any shop, and note the normal price and how much you want it.
- 3
Share it before Thanksgiving
Send the link by text, email or in the family group chat. People mark what they're buying, so you get no duplicates.

Tips for a Black Friday list that works
Share it the week before Thanksgiving
Many retailers start their offers well before Black Friday itself and run them through Cyber Monday on November 30. Sending your list by around November 20 gives family time to shop the whole sale.
Write down the normal price
Note what each item costs in October. When the sale starts, you and anyone buying for you can tell at a glance whether the discount is real.
Link the exact product
Model numbers matter on sale days. Some retailers sell special Black Friday versions of TVs and appliances with lower specs. A link to the exact item helps your family buy the right one.
Mix price points
Include a few small things, some mid-range gifts and one or two bigger wishes. That way everyone can find something that fits their budget.
Pool money for a big-ticket item
For a bigger gift like a TV or a stand mixer, one person can start a group gift on the item. Others pledge what they'd like to put in and everyone can see how close the target is. You sort the money out between yourselves.
Frequently asked questions
Still unsure? These are the questions we hear most.
When is Black Friday 2026?
Black Friday 2026 is on Friday, November 27, the day after Thanksgiving. Cyber Monday is November 30. Many stores start their deals earlier in November.
What is a Black Friday wishlist?
It's a list of things you'd like, saved before the sales begin. You can use it to shop for yourself, and you can share it with family so they buy your holiday gifts at sale prices.
Can I add items from Amazon, Target and Walmart to one list?
Yes. GishFy works with links from any online store, so one list can hold items from Amazon, Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Etsy or a small independent shop.
How does it stop people buying the same gift?
Friends tap Gift on an item before they buy it. Each item can only be gifted once, so if someone has already taken it, the next person is told when they try and can choose something else.
Do my family need an account to see my list?
Anyone with the link can view a public or link-only wishlist. To mark an item as gifted, they'll need a free GishFy account.
Should I use the same list for Christmas?
You can. Many people start a holiday list before Black Friday and keep adding to it until Christmas. Items bought during the sales stay marked, so later shoppers can see what's left.
Is GishFy free?
Yes. Making lists, adding items and sharing them is free.
Get your list out before the deals drop
Start your Black Friday wishlist today, share it before Thanksgiving, and let the people who love you shop the sales for you.
