Why people in the UAE use a shared gift list
The UAE is one of the most international places in the world. Your wedding guests may be spread across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Mumbai, Manila and London. Your baby shower might mix colleagues, school friends and in-laws who've never met. A link that works for everyone, in any country, saves a lot of back-and-forth.
Shopping here is also mostly online. Amazon.ae, Noon, Namshi, Sharaf DG, IKEA UAE, Mumzworld and Ounass deliver almost everywhere in a day or two. GishFy works with links from any of them, so one list can hold a stroller from Mumzworld, a sofa from IKEA and a perfume from a small Dubai brand, each with its price in dirhams.
Most importantly, it stops duplicates. Each item can be marked as gifted only once. When a cousin in Sharjah reserves the coffee machine, an aunt in Al Ain sees it's taken and picks something else. You don't need to keep a spreadsheet or answer "has anyone bought the blender yet?" in the family group.
And for bigger gifts, like a honeymoon or a car seat, friends can pool money. One person starts a group gift on the item, others pledge what they'd like to put in, and everyone can see the total grow. That's especially handy for office collections, which are a big part of UAE work culture.

Tips for gift lists in the UAE
That's where your family and office groups already are. Paste the link with a short message, and pin it in the group so latecomers can find it.
Keep prices in AED
Add the price you see in the UAE store. Guests abroad can still convert it, and guests here instantly know what fits their budget.
Mind delivery around holidays
Delivery slots get busy before Eid, National Day and the end-of-year sales. Share your list two to three weeks ahead so people can order in time.
Include items without a link
Not everything is online. Add gold from the souk, a henna session or a photographer as an item with a name and price, so guests can still reserve it.
Use privacy settings
Choose who can see each list: everyone, only people with the link, or just you. Link-only is a good fit for family and office lists.
Frequently asked questions
Still unsure? These are the questions we hear most.
Is there a gift registry in the UAE that works with any store?
Yes. GishFy lets you add items from any online store, including Amazon.ae, Noon, Namshi, Sharaf DG, IKEA UAE, Mumzworld and Ounass, so you're not tied to a single shop's registry.
Can I show prices in AED?
Yes. Set your list's currency to UAE dirham (AED) and every price shows in dirhams, so guests know exactly what each gift costs.
Can guests outside the UAE use my list?
Yes. Anyone with the link can view a public or link-only list from any country. They can buy from a UAE store for delivery to you, or mark the item as gifted and bring it themselves.
How does it stop people buying the same gift?
Guests tap Gift on an item before they buy it. Each item can only be gifted once, so if someone has already taken it, the next person is told when they try and can choose something else.
Can our office collect money for a farewell or baby gift?
Yes. Add the gift to a list and start a group gift on it. Colleagues pledge what they'd like to put in and can see how close the target is. GishFy doesn't handle the money itself, so you settle up between yourselves.
Is GishFy free in the UAE?
Yes. Making lists, adding gifts and sharing them is free, wherever you live.
Is GishFy available in Arabic?
Not yet. GishFy is in English for now, and Arabic support is on our roadmap.
