A note on fairness
We make GishFy, so read this with that in mind. We've tried to be straight about where other products do better. Details about other products come from their websites, app listings and published reviews, checked October 31, 2026. They can change, so check before you decide.

Why people look for a MyRegistry alternative
A full registry service can be more than you need. If you're putting together a list for a birthday, a housewarming or a farewell, you probably don't need eCards, printable announcements or store syncing. You want to add what you'd like and send a link to your friends. GishFy is built for that, and it takes only a couple of minutes.
Fees are another reason. With MyRegistry, a small fee applies to cash gift funds. GishFy doesn't process payments at all, so there's nothing to charge. Friends can pledge toward a big item through a group gift, and you settle the money between yourselves by bank transfer, Venmo or whatever works. You lose the convenience of collecting through the site, but you also avoid the fee.
GishFy also works well outside the US. Each list has its own currency, and items can come from any shop, so it suits couples in Dubai as well as those in Dallas.
Where MyRegistry is the better choice
For a traditional wedding or baby registry where you want guests to send you money online, MyRegistry offers a better experience. It has real cash funds, while GishFy only tracks pledges and leaves payment up to you. Its app, barcode scanner and browser extension also make adding items much faster, since GishFy has no automatic import.
If you've already got registries at a couple of stores and want them all in one place, its store syncing is useful. GishFy doesn't connect to stores.
How to get started
Create a free account, start a list, choose your currency, and add items by pasting in a link, photo and price. Then share the link with guests, who can view it without an account. Guests need a free account only to mark what they're buying.
Common questions
Is GishFy really free?
Yes. There are no fees and no paid plans. Because GishFy doesn't process payments, there's no transaction fee either.
Can guests send me money through GishFy?
No. You can add a fund as an item, and friends can pledge toward it with a group gift, but the money is settled outside the app. If you need online cash collection, MyRegistry is a better fit.
Can I add items from any store?
Yes. Paste a link from any store, or add something with no link at all. You add the details by hand, as there's no automatic import.
Can I use it for a wedding?
Yes. Many couples just need a shared list of gifts from different stores. See our wedding registry page for ideas and tips.
Does it stop duplicate gifts?
Yes. A guest taps Gift on an item before buying it, and each item can only be gifted once. Anyone else who tries is told it's taken.
