Why plan your Ramadan gifts in one list
Ramadan is about reflection and family more than presents, but gifts do have a part to play. People bring something when they're invited for iftar, send food and hampers to relatives and neighbors, prepare treats for children, and give to those in need. When a few relatives share these responsibilities, it's easy for the same things to be bought twice and others to be forgotten.
A shared list keeps it simple. One person adds the ideas, sends a single link on WhatsApp, and relatives tap Gift on whatever they're taking care of. Each item can only be gifted once, so if someone else tries, they're told it's already covered. Everybody can get on with Ramadan without a long group chat.
It also works well for families spread across countries. Prices can be shown in AED, USD, SAR and other currencies, and items can come from any store, whether that's Amazon.ae, Noon, a local bakery or a favorite shop back home. Because orders get slower close to Eid, having a list early helps too.
Plan your list in 3 steps
- 1
Note who you're giving to
Parents, iftar hosts, children, colleagues and neighbors. Give each one a line.
- 2
Add ideas from any store
Paste a link, set the price in AED, USD or SAR, or just type what you have in mind.
- 3
Send one link to the family group. Relatives can view it without an account.

Tips for Ramadan gifting
Plan in January
Popular date boxes and hampers often sell out, and deliveries slow down toward Eid. Starting a few weeks before Ramadan makes everything easier.
Bring dates, but make them good
Hosts tend to receive many dates during Ramadan, so choosing a special variety or a nicely filled box stands out.
Remember the children's celebrations
Gargee'an is held mid-Ramadan in several Gulf countries, while Haq Al Laila in the UAE comes about two weeks before Ramadan, so it's an earlier date to prepare for.
Plan Eid at the same time
Ramadan is followed by Eid al-Fitr, expected around 10 March 2027. Consider both together, and use our Eidiya calculator to work out the cash you'll need.
Respect fasting at work
If you give food to fasting colleagues, wrap it to take home so they can enjoy it at iftar.
Frequently asked questions
Still unsure? These are the questions we hear most.
When does Ramadan start in 2027?
Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin around 8 February and end around 9 March, with Eid al-Fitr around 10 March. The exact dates depend on the sighting of the moon, so they may shift by a day.
What are good gifts to give during Ramadan?
Popular gifts include premium dates, sweets from a good bakery, prayer mats, Qurans, Arabic coffee sets, oud and attar, table decorations, and gifts to charity in someone's name.
What should I bring to an iftar?
Dates, sweets, flowers or a small box of nuts or chocolate are all welcome. If you're close to the host, ask whether a dish would help.
What is Gargee'an?
Gargee'an is a children's celebration held around the middle of Ramadan in several Gulf countries, where children go door to door singing and collecting sweets and nuts. A similar tradition called Haq Al Laila takes place in the UAE about two weeks before Ramadan begins.
Can I use AED prices on my list?
Yes. Each list has its own currency, including AED, USD, SAR, INR, EUR and GBP.
Do my relatives need an account?
No, not to view it. Anyone with the link can see a public or link-only list. To mark an item as gifted, they need a free GishFy account.
